1 Peter is a General Epistle (Letter) and was written to the scattered people of God (and all believers in general). The author is Peter who wrote it about 60 A.D. through Silvanus, or Silas, who was one of Paul’s companions (Acts 15:22, 16:25, etc.). Peer knew what it would take to endure and stand firm without bitterness and living an obedient, faith filled victorious life. The letter’s purpose was to encourage suffering and persecuted Christians through faith in Christ, our Model.
This is not a detailed study but a brief Scriptural overview of this powerful book. We will post 2 Peter soon.
